13U FALL JUST SHY OF CHAMPIONSHIP GAME FINISHING 3-1 ON THE WEEKEND

TRIPLE CROWN SPORTS ACADEMY 16U WELCOMES JOSHUA TO THE LIONS FAMILY

Joshua (middle with blue shirt) is a Mississippi native that has come to Florida to train in baseball and spent the weekend with our High School team.  He is a 15 year old middle infielder with great hands and a quick and powerful bat.  Joshua has spent the last three months in the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy before the horrific storm hit the island.  He was there going to school and training to be the next MLB short stop.  Joshua spends numerous weeks thru the year with the MLB Elite Athlete Baseball Academy, which is special invite showcases for top players.  The Lions are very fortunate to have him play and will have him with us in more tournaments throughout the year.  He helped TC finished 5th out of 18 teams this weekend, while only getting out one time all weekend with 5 stolen bases and 4 runs scored to go along with 4 hits.  Welcome to the Lions family.

Tyler has been a member of the Lions family for two years now and he has been an amazing teammate.  This pitcher has improved a lot and has really taken his game to another level.  When his team needs a pitcher in big games Tyler doesn't back down from the big stage and preforms at a high-level.  Tyler doesn't only pitch but he plays a great outfield, he controls center field and tracks every ball very well not allowing anything by him.  His game has transitioned very well from the academy to his high-school.  Tyler is Triple Crown Sports Academy's 14U Player of the week.

This weeks Triple Crown Sports Academy player spot light for 13U is first baseman Jay Magee.  Jay has been with us less then a year and is making a huge impact on the team and tremendous improvement to his game.  The maturity in his game exceeded expectations.
Jay had a monster tournament, in the Georgia State Fall Championships.  He was determined to carry the team on his shoulders.  Jay took his power to another level by going yard in each of his five games in the tournament.  This first baseman finished the tournament 6-12 with 5 HR’s and 15 RBI’s to go along with a stellar pitching performance closing out game 1 and the championship game for the win.
Jay has shown what a student of the game and a pure leader within the team he is.  So far during the 2017 Fall season with Triple Crown Sports Academy he is batting .639 with 23 hits 5 home runs and 35 RBI’s in four tournaments.
Great job for being a great player and TC team member.  GO LIONS!!!

Wow we are speechless for what these young men went thru and proved as CHAMPIONS this weekend in the Georgia State Championships. After pulling off a nail-bitter in game 1 Saturday (6-5), the Lions went ahead in game 2 (3-0) with 3 run Home Run off the bat of Jay, the Lions ended up dropping the game 13-3. In championship Sunday we came out flat and went down 5-0 in the first inning but nope we did not give up as TC tied the game and went 8 innings to win it with a walk-off... single by Nico. From there it was history they were not making the trip home without a championship winning the semi-final game 7-3 with a stellar pitching performance by Anthony. Then to the championship game, were Nico, Ramses and Jay held Game On Columbus to 7 hits and 4 earned runs. Jay capped off the tournament with his 5th Home Run and 15 RBI, while Nico went 3-4 in the game and capped off an amazing tournament with ending the game with a line-drive Home Run. Everyone one did their job and played amazing. This team is a force to be wrecking with. Cant wait to go back again to Georgia and show them what TC is all about.
